What's coming up

Okay some of you are surprised that I'm still such a huge fan of Sammi after all these years. While others are probably just rolling their eyes and thinking "well, what else is new?" *grins* Hmm, what can I say? I'm loyal like that.

So alright I'll change my subject. At least for a while. My next post would be all about Harry Potter! Unless you've been living in a cave you should know that the new movie based on Book 5 is coming out today - Harry Potter and the Order Of the Phoenix. This should be the darkest and most exciting HP movie yet, as the fight between good and evil finally breaks out. And *drum rolls* the last and highly anticipated Book 7 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be launched on July 21st! I'm dreaming about the book already. :) Hey Rach, remember the last time you accompanied me to get Book 6? It was so funny we woke up early and go to the bookstore in Jusco, only to realise no one is lining up there. Maybe we should have went for a bigger or more popular bookstore, huh? Hehhe. Wonder who can I get to follow me this time.

Gosh, J.K Rowling is already the first billionaire author and a female one at that. She's richer than Queen Elizabeth and in 2006, Forbes named her the second richest female entertainer in the world, behind Oprah Winfrey. This is a true life rags-to-riches story. She was an unemployed, penniless single mother with a young daughter. She had the idea of a bespectacled dark-haired boy who didn't know he was a wizard in a train ride. Wrote her first HP book in cafes and sent it out to 12 publishing houses, all of which rejected her. Can you believe it?! A year later finally a small publisher at that time, Bloomsbury publish her book. And the rest they say, is history.

Currently, the HP series has sold over 300 million copies worldwide and been translated into 65 languages since the first book was published in 1997.
