Anyway I wanna share with you guys the interview I've just watched from a program called "A Date with Lu Yu", she's a famous talk show host from Taiwan. The first part of the interview ran for 1 hour and it was a very open and candid discussion between Sammi and Lu Yu. It's all in Mandarin though, god I wished I've studied it last time. For those of you (meaning RL and CL) who has so much doubts bout Mi disappearance for 2 years, well the answers are revealed here.
Synopsis of the interview part 1:
- Extreme weight loss: The first thing they talk about is how much Sammi lost weight. She had to do 7 hours of exercise every day. 2 hours of jogging and 4 hours of weight training. Omg can you imagine the commitment? The torture? The sacrifice you have to do to be fit and thin.
- Mega successful concerts: Mi said that she was nervous after 3 years of not singing. But the feverish support from her audience on the 1st night really help, they were standing up, screaming her name and singing along - giving her the confidence she needed. It was touching when she read the letter she wrote herself in the concert. The last part of the letter she said, "You have really prepared your homework. You have come back. More importantly, your courage has come back." After 8 concerts, she has done it.
- Everlasting regret movie: She admitted she was unsure of herself after the movie. It wasn't a failure, but it wasn't a success either. The romantic comedies before did so well. Then this movie which was her setback. But she learned from it and knows she has a long way to go to become a great actress.
- 2 years Time off: She needed a break at that moment. Didn't have the energy or mood to work. She also suffered from pretty serious skin problem and seen doctors and took medicine for it. It was just that. But the press exaggerated falsely saying that she was depressive, suicidal or even died during this period of time.
- Paintings & Writing: That's what she did on her break for 2 years. (Don't understand much this part cos talking bout her columns and paintings are so profound in mandarin). But the interviewer said she was very touched by what she read and even cried. Praised that Mi paints very well too. Mostly Mi wrote bout her deep thoughts on love, and the high and low points of her life. When interviewer ask her did she go through a difficult time, her answer was honest. I think she said she was sad for a short period. What's the meaning of 'lang man' in mandarin? Confused me that word. The gist of it that I interpret is that she was gloomy/sad/melancholic. But it wasn't as bad as the press reported. But it's over now. She's happy again. :)
- Paparazzi: To be an artiste in HK, you have to get used to the paparazzi or 'kau chai dui' who follow you everywhere. Can't even open the curtains in her home for the past 2 years cos fear of the paparazzi taking pictures. Not surprising, see what happened to Leon Lai, got caught making out (and more!) with gf in his apartment.
P.S: Anyone wanna download the interview, I have it so let me know. :D
