Working half-day, rushing around to buy lunches and ferrying bosses back to their hotel... Gosh, I was tired even before the event started. Then drove to a colleague's house to bathe and do make-up in less than 30 minutes.
After that hop into the car and rushes to the club to get ready for the set-up. Poppy Garden is near to the Beach Club and right beside Rum Jungle. The venue is pretty cool, probably nothing like the Luna Bar, which was our first choice but it was just too expensive to booked for a night. All my bosses and colleagues from Singapore were already there decorating the place and testing the sound check and all.
The whole night though me and my colleague were stuck manning the reception area where guests were supposed to show up at 6.30pm. We start taking down the attendance but as Malaysians are famous for being late, we were still waiting for people till 8.30pm! So we missed out all the grand opening ceremony, speeches and performances! Then when we thought we could just skip in a while and see what's going on, some people were already leaving by 9pm! We have to stand by and passed out the door gifts to them. I've smiled so much welcoming the 180 guests and then thanking them for coming that I've felt my jaw ached and frozen in place. By 10pm I was sooo drained out and were wishing that those guest would just leave already!
So it wasn't as fun as I've thought it would be. But it was exciting getting ready for the event and you do feel a sense of pride that the response was great and better than expected. Best of all, our boss came to us and praised us for doing a good job and that the company will be expanding further this year!
It was torture though to wake up this morning to go to work after less than 5 hours of sleep!

next time when u hv another product launch, bug ur boss to do it in Luna Bar! then everyone can hv late nite swim in the pool!
